Daily Schedule
Each class has a daily schedule that includes the following activities:
- Free choice time: each student is given time during the
day to explore and discover various areas within the classroom. Teachers
also have planned activities at tables for students to work on during
this time
- Circle: the class meets together on the carpeted area to do
the calendar, weather, read stories, and talk about the letter of the
week
- Recess: each class has time to run around and play outside
on the playground or in the gym
- Snack: each class has a nutritious snack
- Teacher directed activity: this is a specific activity or
project related to a theme or letter
Each class has a helper chart so that each student has the responsibility
of a special job in their class. Classes go on field trips throughout the
year and have guest speakers visit the classroom. Parent-Teacher conferences
are also held twice a year.
