Each classroom has the following areas:

  • Art Area: where paint, easels, paper, scissors, glue, markers, crayons, etc… are available

  • Water or Sand Table: for measuring, making predictions, etc…

  • Dramatic Play Area: this area changes frequently throughout the school year; it may be a housekeeping area, post office, grocery store, flower shop, etc…

  • Puppet Theater

  • Computer Station: Two computers with educational software

  • Quiet Area: for books and puzzles

  • Math Area: number games, sorting activities, patterning, geometric shapes, etc…

  • Science Area: magnets, magnifying glasses, found objects from nature, plants, etc…

  • Block Building Area: variety of building blocks, toy cars and animals, etc…

  • Safe Place: This is place where a student may go on his or her own to regroup using calming techniques practiced in the classroom.
